Our Skills Bootcamp is designed to help diverse developers fast-track their way into the games industry. Through expert-led training, you’ll gain essential programming and game engine skills, build a strong portfolio, and expand your professional network.
At Playback, we’re with you every step of the way. You’ll learn to create better prototypes, receive support to publish your games, and even explore monetisation opportunities. Plus, we’ll help you prepare for interviews and connect with industry professionals where possible after you complete the bootcamp.

During induction, we’ll discuss your abilities and goals for the 8-week program. After a Skill Scan, we’ll plan your path to achieve your career goals.

Our sessions are led by gaming industry professionals, including your Course Tutor. You’ll have a personal Mentor and access to an Employer Engagement Officer for support.
Your Course
The Games Development Skills Bootcamp prepares you for Unity Dev. It blends classroom sessions with remote learning.
Create a Portfolio
You’ll complete practical assignments over 8 weeks to build a strong portfolio for potential employers.
Speaker Sessions
Networking opportunities and industry expert talks provide insights into the gaming landscape.
121 Mentoring
An Information, Advice, and Guidance Officer offers 121 mentoring to overcome barriers and boost confidence.
Career Pathway
Work with your IAG Officer to improve your CV and navigate job applications. Employment Engagement Officers have industry connections.
Job Interview
We arrange interviews with gaming sector employers to showcase your skills and secure job opportunities
Eligibility criteria
To qualify for a completely-free bootcamp place, you must:
Aged 19+
Have the right to work in the UK
Able to travel to South East London
Be able to dedicate 20 hours per week
